May days

It's been a while since I've added a post here, Alex is not even 8-months yet and I seem to be updating less and less - imagine how little I'll do when he's 3! Although I don't really care for my jogging stroller Alex and I have been doing some running and walking lately (well I do the exercising and he gets to sit there guiltless). A friend of John's (Josh) said the other day to us while John was holding Alex, "I wish I had a giant man to carry me around everywhere." How true is that? Babies are so lucky and get just about everything done for them. Josh's comment made me go back to a thought I have often, we have to literally teach babies EVERYTHING. I knew being a mom would be a lot of work with the diapers, sleepless nights, feedings, etc. but I didn't realize how much work. Teaching a baby how to use a sippy cup, how to eat solids, crawl - it's nuts.

Anyway, Alex isn't quite on the move yet (by that I mean crawling) but he sure knows how to get from place to place - he rolls! I can leave the room with him sitting on a blanket playing with a toy and come back a few minutes later and he's across the room on his back. We aren't going to be able to leave him alone once he gets moving.

We went to the Zoo with some neighborhood friends. Although Alex wasn't interested I still wanted to get a photo of the two of us, I know we aren't looking at the camera but this one is the best one I have.

Alex on Memorial Day

As I said, Alex isn't crawling yet but he does rock back and forth on his hands and knees for a bit before he gets bored, takes a face plant and starts rolling.

Smiles

When Alex is stitting on the couch with us he loves to be in control of the remote -like father, like son.

We're back!

I finally got my computer back (although it's really not up to par) so I can get some photos up. Alex has had a busy past few weeks. He had his first overnight stay, he went to a Derby party, he turned 7 months, he got a bit of a cold and he played with some friends.

7 months today!

We're starting him young...

Not too much

I'm without my laptop right now so for those of you wondering why I haven't put up any new photos of Alex, that is my reasoning. I have been taking photos so don't you fret I just haven't had access to upload them yet. Maybe soon, maybe not. Who knows....
Besides that, nothing new is really going on in Alex's life.

Pool

It seems that Alex is having the time of his life. He got into the pool for the first time and really liked it. I don't know what it is about Florida but Alex has been taking the best naps. Night time is rough though, he's ended up in bed with us every night.
